The Lake Family Historical Association’s Annual Memorial Service

Every year a Memorial Service is conducted at the base of the cedar tree in the Tabernacle in Ocean City, NJ to honor those who have passed on during the year. Usually a hymn is sung, and a local minister or President of The Lake Family Historical Association gives a short speech. As each name is called, the closest relative present places a red rose in a vase under the tree for them. The Memorial Service is just prior to the Family Reunion, usually at 1:00 or 2:00 pm.

Anyone who would like to make a Memorial Donation to honor a Loved One, please make checks payable to the Lake Family Historical Association and mail checks to:

The Lake Family Historical Association

The names of those memorialized and the names of the donors are recorded in our database.  This is a wonderful way to remember our loved ones who have passed away in prior years or those who we want to honor with this special tribute while they are with us.  Names of those honored will be announced during the Memorial Service and at our Annual Reunion.

If you have a death in the family, we would like to have the information regarding the funeral arrangements so we can post it on the Home Page, enabling interested parties to attend. To share this information, please fill out the form below. The form can also be used for any family event you wish to share.
